KOODE · Community & volunteering

Care as a shared social responsibility.

KOODE is Arike’s community volunteering system - a network of trained neighbours, students, and well-wishers who make sure no patient is left unsupported. In 2025, 109 active volunteers walked alongside our families.

The KOODE volunteer

A familiar presence, beyond the clinical.

Volunteers are a core strength of Arike - enabling compassionate, continuous, and culturally sensitive care that reaches far past the clinical visit.

Emotional companionship

Active listening and steady presence for patients facing loneliness and end-of-life fears.

Everyday practical help

Support with basic care, hygiene, and household needs that families struggle to manage alone.

A bridge to the team

Keeping families and the clinical team connected, so care stays continuous and timely.

Care within reach

Making home-based care accessible right at the community level.

Shared ownership

Building participation so home care belongs to the whole community, not just professionals.

Community programmes

Reaching far beyond clinical care.

Each KOODE programme is a standing part of how Arike works - a deliberate way of carrying care, dignity, and belonging beyond the clinical visit and into everyday life.

Programme 01/ 12

UNARV

A youth mobilisation programme that brings college students into home care. Through a structured workshop, participants learn the principles of community care, accompany teams on home visits, and reflect on what they witness - shaping a new generation of compassionate volunteers and advocates.
